Hospitalization at home (HAH) has the distinctive feature of treating you at home. If you were not cared for by HAH, you would be hospitalized in a clinic or hospital ward.
HAH enables you to avoid or shorten a "conventional" hospital stay, so that you can be cared for close to your family and friends. Hospitalization at home provides hospital care in your own home, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The HAD service provides continuous and coordinated medical and paramedical care at the home of the patient as well as in a social or medico-social institution with accommodation for a limited period, but subject to revision according to the evolution of his health condition. These treatments are necessarily complex, technical, long-term, multi-daily, delivered by various health professionals with different specialties.
The HAD is prescribed according to the care load that requires the patient’s state of health by a hospital doctor or a doctor practicing in a liberal capacity (attending physician). Integrated into the care pathways, it is positioned as an alternative to conventional hospitalization with the objective of allowing home maintenance and shortening, delaying or totally avoiding a complete hospitalization.
